Have you aver heard of the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat?

An artist I just discovered.   There are probably 5 or 6 movies about him but I recommend the PBS documentary on Amazon Prime " American Masters: Basquiat ".    Jean-Michel Basquiat (pronounced Bas-kee-ah)  went from an anonymous graffiti writer to emerging as one of the most important artists of his generation exhibiting in museums all over the world.  He was born in Brooklyn in 1960.  His Mom inspired him to do art as she liked to sketch fashion designs. As a child, he created abstract designs to show his feelings. Basquiat was from a multi-cultural background so had lots of different views that influenced his work. He created art that he called neo-expressionism. He created his work on canvas and paper but also material found on the streets such as glass windows, doors, and rubber. One of his paintings sold for $10.5 million. He sadly died of a heroin overdose at 27.
